1984年非洲面臨前所未有的旱災和飢荒.
受災最嚴重的國家是埃塞俄比亞.
一眾當時得令的英倫樂壇群星首先灌錄單曲"Do They Know It's Christmas"為埃塞俄比亞飢民籌款送暖.
接著一班美國超級流行樂手也灌錄了觸動心靈單曲"We Are The World".
1985年Bob Geldof策動組成的Band Aid舉世矚目.
在英國London和美國Philadelphia舉辦了繼胡士托後人類最偉大和重要的露天流行音樂會.

八十年代我們擁有"最好的流行音樂".
我指"最好的流行音樂"不是"一般流行音樂".
"最好的流行音樂"已經脫離"流行"的定義走上"經典".
